About Me

about me.
I'm Megan. I'm an almost-30 California girl who is back on the west coast after some stints in Texas and Georgia, and exploring life outside the Pacific Time Zone. I am a 15-time half-marathoner and one-time marathoner, living, loving and running through a pretty outstanding state.

Every now and again, you'll see some additional folks making appearances here on my adventures.

My amazing family (me, mom, dad, sister).
My boyfriend, Doug.

And my fur baby, Molly.
On the other side of my life, I work in university administration, and have bounced around at various colleges. I love what I do in impacting college students and their experiences everywhere, and love the adventure in having a career that is different day in and day out!

run megan run.
I started this blog when I first moved to Georgia in August 2011. This blog was originally started to keep family and friends up-to-date on my on-goings, but also as I learned to refurbish furniture, posted about those a lot here! You can search way back in the archives for some of that fun. But as I took on the new challenge of training for and running my first half marathon, my focus changed - a lot. And thus, Run Megan Run was born in the spring of 2012. Since then, I've run countless 5Ks, 10Ks, halfs and am working on full marathon two in the Spring of 2015. You can read more about my running adventure here.

  1. OMG!! I went to NAU!!!!! I am sure I was there before you because I think I am "officially" in my mid 30s!
We have very similar PRs! Looks like you like to race too...13 in 13 sounds like a great challenge. I did a ton of races last year and I thought I would cool it just a bit more this year. :)

    1. LOVE IT! I love Flagstaff and miss it dearly! I definitely like to race, perhaps a little too much, but I definitely get the racing high (not just running high -- races do me in!). Haha.

Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

  2. I'm a fellow Southern Californian that lived in Georgia, but couldn't stay away from the West Coast for too long. Glad to have found your blog!
